I have the original version Gigabyte 965 DS3 version 1 and have always been a little concerned around the heat it pushes out - the etc software tells me that my mainboard is running at 40C at idle..I have installed a couple of spotcool fans and even purchased the 8800gts 512 so that it would extract heat through the second slot cooler.
I have also had issues with external USB & Firewire HDD enclosures, where if I leave the HDD's on the bios loses my main bootable HDD, I have to go into the bios and search for the drive again.I also seem to get BSOD's whenever i use the WD software to back up my data drive - not whilst performaing the back up but when i reboot the system after the back up...
My question is, therefore, would an upgrade to Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 Intel X38 be worth while, does this motherboard run cooler and is it worth the 123 notes.
I do not overclock.. I know, I know
System specs
