Its probably RMA time, but thought I'd see if anyone can think of anything I've missed.

The PC will not post, there is no output to the monitor, and there are no beeps upon boot up. It case it was the graphic card or monitor I've tried removing the memory and booting up, but there are no warning beeps for this either, suggest its the MB that has died.

I've tried removing all power to none essential devices. And I've also removed the battery for 5 minutes to do a CMOS reset. Still nothing. Anybody think of anything I may have not thought of before I RMA the MB?

The PSU is working. The fans on the case and CPU cooler spin up. If they are connected so do the HD's.

I don't have any other compatable GFX or RAM. Thats why I removed them, as I'd expect the MB to produce those lovely error beeps, but other than powering up it does nothing. No beeps (it normally beeps once at the start of post).

Is this an existing build or a new build?

If the cpu cooler is connected to the MB, then MB is active cos the cooler fan is spinning.

Its an existing build. The board is not devoid of power. I said it will not post.
It powers up, stuff spins up, there is no beep to indicate the start of the post, or anyother errors, and there is no output to the monitor (which runs fine off the laptops vga out).

All I'm looking for really is confirmation that a lack of any error beeps points to the MB being screwed.

Try posting with CPU and graphics card only.

And then if that dont work, try testing those 2 items in another system(if available) . If they work, then your MB screwed.

Just tried that combination aswell, exactly the same behaviour. Trying the aprts in another systems is gonna be hard, only other things I have are socket a, or 754, and agp. :(

May risk going out and buying a new board on saturday, then RMA'ing the other one if everythings ok.
