I have spotted today that Gigabyte have posted new bioses for the 970 G1.

I was going to flash mine but the problem I have is with the VGA@BIOS utility provided by Gigabyte.

When I load it and it runs I get a freeze on a random colour. First was pink, second time was blue. Then I just press reset button and Im back.

I google and it seems there is a bios flash uitility called NVFlash. Is this safe to use?

Anything better? And is it ok to use a third party utility to flash an official bios?

Sorted it.

Disable gpu in control panel first.

Weirdly when you download the new bioses, there are two of them in the folder.... I took a gamble and choose one!

All is well. :p
