970 SLI - Displayport doesn't seem to work on GPU1?

I have to connect my monitor via displayport, and tv via HDMI

When I connect the monitor to GPU1 (via displayport), I get no signal. I only get a signal when I connect the monitor to GPU2.

So, I have both cables (displayport for monitor, hdmi for tv) connected to the 'bottom' gpu, aka gpu2 according to nvidia control panel

Is this an issue? Surely the displayport should work on the primary card..
