Just wanted some thoughts really.

I already have a single 970 but I'm struggling to push the frames I want out of Witcher 3 & a couple of games so I'm thinking of either getting another 970 or holding on for the 980Ti.

I keep searching the net for when the 980Ti might be released and it seems there is some concensus that it will be announced at Computex on June 2nd and go on sale almost straight away.

Does anyone know whether this will be on the stock NVidia cooler because if it is the wait for the aftermarkets is usually another month or two in which case I'll might grab another 970, if it releases straight away with aftermarkets coolers it seems a bit overkill to own the 970 for 2 weeks before selling it again.

Cheers guys ;)

Yeah wait, you can make a better decision then and 970s well drop in price also. Although if u sell the game codes u can get atm that drops the price also.

Best thing to do is to wait. Then see the Witcher 3 benchmarks of a 980ti vs 970 SLI. I've heard W3 does SLI well and the cost of 2 970s (even if one is already owned) is cheaper than the expected price of a 980. Plus, if you wait until AMD release their cards, Nvidia might, just might, reduce the price of the 970 to compete. Or if you want an extra copy of the game, buy one now and give it to a buddy or something?

3.5Gb vs speculated 6Gb VRAM, I think it's more of a better future proof decision to go for a single 980ti and then pick up a second hand one a year later.

970 re-sells pretty well atm, it would make more sense to go for the new card once it's out than SLI. As for Witcher 3, performance adjustments are pretty wacky for it, I certainly wouldn't base by GPU purchase on it. Closer look at GTA 5 benchmarks for some real talk.
