Right guys, I know there are a lot of posts on this due to the 970 v-ram issue but after reading all the other posts there still isn't really a decent answer.

Which 980 is best...

Please bare in mind I do NOT want to be overclocking but will be SLI in the future.

I have narrowed it down to three...

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock ACX 2.0 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (04G-P4-2983-KR)

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 G1 Gaming 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Need some advice to finalize my decision. Please state why you chose the card you picked too.

EVGA however has 5 year warranty if you register, a great cooler and you can change the cooler if you want down the line.

Ok so have decided on the EVGA, now which one.

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 SC "Reference Design"

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock

which one would be best to get, the price difference doesn't matter just want the best one.

Super Clock non ref as the temps are pretty incredible, built really well too.. Ref design superclock is nice though as it expels heat out the back

Depends on your case/cooling etc

Why did you rule out the OcUK reference 980? It's cheaper and for SLI it expels the heat out the back and it comes with a 3 year warranty.

I know myself and regardless of if I went SLI or not there's no way I'd be keeping my card for 5 years.

Also it's designed by OC themselves to try and eliminate coil whine.

I own EVGA SC Ref design. Doesn't go over 70 degrees in gaming, not even 65 degrees for that matter. Looks good and as Neil stated heat out the back :)

% year warranty helps with resale value, can take the cooler off and put on aftermarket or water cooling without voiding as well

I went for the EVGA SC and could not be happier, I myself upgraded to this from the 970 and their is a fair difference but tbh its from like 120 fps in BF4 to 140fps and in arma an extra 5-10 frames. its hellishly loud when the fans are on full chat but they never ever hit full chat so it does not matter. cool quiet and well built. however my sticker on the top was broken (the one that covers the LED so its now a GTX 9 and not a 980 lol. A quick call to EVGA and the new one is on its way plus they registered it for me and now covered for 5 years :D:D:D

Cool, decision is made and i'm going for the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock.

Seems like the best buy, cheaper, higher clocked out the box and as I don't want to be overclocking this fits perfect.

Just want to thank everyone for their input and advice.

Thanks.
