9700k vs 9900k Gaming

I realise no one can answer this definitively as the CPU's aren't out there yet. But I am curious as to how these will (clock for clock) vary in games?
What do people think the case will be?

From the reviews if you have an 8 series chip I wouldn't bother but if you have something earlier the 9600k seems to be the better option or even the 8700k from a price performance aspect.

Or if you wan't a cheap alternative to Central Heating then the 9900K is for you for the all year round toasty feeling. Given the reviews I'm actually happy I cancelled my preorder for the 9900k.

I cancelled mine too. bit gutted to have no shiny coming but good things come to those who wait.

why is that ? you have a 9700 and 9900k which in most games are 20 to 30 fps up on anything amd.

At 1080p!! Who in their right mind is gaming with these things at 1080p??

most of the gaming community are gaming at 1080. okay...heres a idea lets make a cpu for gaming which suits 1080p is the fastest.

Most of the people who buy 9900k/9700k/8700/2700x are most definately NOT gaming at 1080p

Primary Display Resolution for 2018 is 1080. survey complete it is 1080. most people use for gaming a intel cpu. survey done. so intel give you the fastest gaming cpu for the most popular platform. people have no idea what they talking about. they give you what you need for the masses.the masses use it.

Primary CPU? Certainly NOT 9900/8700/2700

Those that have top tier CPUs are not gaming at 1080p.
Steam survey has 60% of people on quad core CPUs and 30% of people on dual cores.

What you're doing is the equivalent of sticking your fingers in your ears and going "la-la-la-la-la!". Your lack of ability to understand a very obvious fact is quite worrying. 1080p may be the dominant resolution overall, and the 9900K may indeed be the fastest gaming CPU at that resolution (no one is disputing that), but the VAST MAJORITY of people at the resolution ARE NOT going to be buying £600 CPUs, especially when the value is so dreadful!! Seriously, what is it about this that you apparently find impossible to understand??

Anyone know if the 9700K runs much cooler than the 9900K? If so it could be a great gaming chip.

The 9700K will do around 5.3Ghz at the same temperature/voltage that the 9900K will do 5.0Ghz.

That (if true) is hugely significant.
