What is the exact make and model of your power supply?

I suspect this might be the issue as i have Gold Seaonic foucs GX-650 , I can play games for hours and its ok not issues. Other times I get a lot crashes a lot, for example i started playing a new game RV thier yet and it constanly crashing to desktop 4-5 times less than an hour played.

Step number one should be to test your ram and CPU stability, as that's usually what cause driver crashes - with faster GPU you put much more stress on these components now. Download free occt software and run tests it provides (min. 20 minus for each test - ram, CPU, PSU, then vram and GPU). Then you might have better idea what actually is the problem here. Otherwise you can be only guessing.
I will try this thank you.
You could try a driver only install.

By "crash", what do you mean exactly? Crash to desktop?

What monitor are you using?
I have just installed driver only, not tested anything yet. I have 180hz 1440p Asus ROG something....

Mostly crash to deskop the game closes. I have had some blue screen crashes.

650w power supply would be my first port of call. the 9070XT can draw 330W and more so I suspect you are on the limit.
Would the game crash or would the PC crash when it hits the limit? I ran Heaven many times and had no issues

Using OCCT Software
CPU test ran for 20 mins all ok.
Memory test found errors 10 seconds in.... I will try memtest86 i guess? i can't seem to see more information on occt?
3d Adaptive test failed "crash code -1"

remove xmp/reset bios to stock
RAM doesn't often go from good to bad, but it can happen. Sometimes it's not even RAM but memory controller or motherboard having trouble. You can try them on stock non-XMP settings, see how they behave.

I haven't changed the bios yet i tried turning off XMP no joy. I install only one ram module and it passed the test time to test the others...

Corsair are pretty good with RMA's so they'll probably send you out a new set if you contact them/start the process.

AM4 can be a little finicky with more than two dimms however, so that might be the problem.
But I have been running 4 dimms for years, only noticed issues since around the time I upgraded my GPU.

A more powerful GPU means there's potentially more strain on the CPU, memory controllers can also degrade over time.

Fingers crossed you just need to replace a bad stick of RAM, but switching to 2x16gb might be necessary.
I see, well I tested two Ram sticks and the pc shutdown, no blue screen? I repalced that RAM stick and the test passed. So it might be that one ram stick, I need to test one more but I think thats enough for today will report back tomorrow!

Thank you all btw, you have been very helpful. I think i will give my GPU a little undervolt while im at it...

Might be a bit time consuming but I’d be running Memtest86 from a bootable USB drive with one memory stick at a time for a couple of hours.

You might find that the faulty stick will error very quickly.
I did try this but it was taking ages Iff i put all 4 sticks in will it tell me which one has failed?

Didn’t the OP find they had a faulty RAM stick and will report back? If this was a silver or lower rated PSU I would understand but the Seasonic Focus GX 650 is a good PSU.

One way to test the PSU is to set a negative power limit in the GPU. Setting this as low as it will go will significantly reduce power draw (and spikes) of the GPU.

I have been using a 9070XT pulse with a 7800X3D, 32GB of 6000 DDR5, 2x NVMe drives and in an older EVGA gold 650w PSU. Absolutely zero issues with this setup. It even accepts a max power overclock but is generally run undervolted with a -15% power limit to keep the GPU at about 280w and stock performance.

A decent 650w PSU will run a 9070 XT with a top end AMD CPU with no issues.
Haven't had the time to test the ram slot that came up with a fault. But I have only had one crash where my pc restarted when loading into a round on arc raiders. The pc restarted so fast so missed the message but it said "croupt" something?

You could check the event log but a hard reset is more a core system failure than a GPU fault. So yes it could be spiking the PSU but that’s not a GPU fault. Try to set the power limit as low as it will go and test again.

I’m using a 5 year old EVGA Gold 650w PSU with a 9070XT Pulse.

Whatbdo you mean by event log? (Dump file?) will try the power limit and check the small memory dump file.
But why would the PSU have power spike on a loading screen? I'm sure the game limits the FPS to 60 ( need to check).

I have had the GPU since July, I also moved over to windows 11 at the same time.

Using the OCCT the CPU intensive passed.
I did memory test it failed, so I tested the memory on Memtest86 it failed but I didn't finish the test as I had go out.

I then tested 3 out 4 ram sticks(ran out of time do the 4th) on its own in OCCT one failed. So I have been running on 2x8GB system has been ok until that one crash last night on arc raiders.

I think I will test the other ram stick on occt then do a full Memtest86? I did buy a new seasonic leadex 1000w PSU, as it was same price as the 850w which was out of stock. But I have not installed it yet.
