So ive purchased a Gigabyte 970A-UD3 Rev 3.0 board today its already running the latest bios (FC) but i cant access bios options or anything if i press delete to access the bios i get a blank screen and if i press f12 to access boot menu i get the same ive contacted gigabyte supoort but ive heard there terrible so i was wondering if anyone on here could help ive tried a CMOS reset by shorting the pins and ive removed the battery but still stuck with the same problem :(

starting to look like a waste of 30quid aswel purchasing my new CPU cooler as i cant overclock now.

Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Gigabyte have replied to my message and stated it could be a hardware issue, any ideas what it could be while i wait for them to respond?

Can you boot into Windows?

Yeah i can boot into windows, i posted the issue on toms hardware aswel and got a reply stating it could be because im using my tv as a monitor and its something to do with the bios resolution but i havent got a regular monitor to try and see if that is the problem

sounds like that's the issue. might be pumping too high a resolution for the telly to cope with. or refresh rate is not supported by the telly.

i know when i get the splash screen its showing in 720p not sure on refresh think its 60Hz (will check when i get home) and when i get to my desktop its 1080p @ 60Hz

tried resetting cmos? you'll lose any current settings tho fyi.

but to me i'd plug the thing into a regular monitor first to rule that out. must have a neighbour or mate with one?

think im going overclockers tomorrow get the rest of my friends build for him, if he gets a monitor ill borrow his but i know he was mentioning running his build through his tv, If he doesnt get a monitor you recon overclockers would try it out for me?

yeh don't see why they'd have an issue with that! not like you can give a monitor a virus or anything. as long as the cmos is reset and bios is standard.

best ask them tho so they know to expect you. give em a ring
