970GTX Fan dying

Guys, I have a Zotac 970GTX. One of the two fans that cools the card has started to squeal and it's not spinning correctly, more like a hard disc spinning up and down type thing. Temps have gone up too.

Am I about to get hit with a sore one or is there some kind of maintenance/repair I could try to get it functioning again?

Give it a good clean then apply a drop of sewing machine oil to the hub (you can usually get it from a fabric shop).

Depending on the make and model you can buy fans for GPUs from Chinese import sites, not sure if I'm allowed to link any as they might be considered a competitor. Prices tend to vary and some can be pretty costly (some are cheap too though).

There was a video a couple of months back on linus tech tips where they just took the shroud off the card and strapped a regular fan onto the heatsink and that seemed to work well too, you might consider that approach. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yQHAMz1v5g
