970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

I've been pretty loyal to Gigabyte products given their UK RMA and fairly good Quality Control. But, seriously, they have already lost a customer. I will be supporting the companies who care about OCUK and their customers.

Well I ran some stats, so far just shy of 20,000 970's sold by OcUK and authorised returns so far is 11pc.

The numbers will be little because the 970 is bloody amazing, this is blown out of proportion to be honest but here at OcUK the customer is king and comes first. :)

Thats nice to know and the cutoff date to exchange the 970 for a refund gives some of us a good bit of breathing space. I'm going to be getting me hands on a 1440 monitor hopefully by early next week, and if these issues manifest themselves at the higher resolution, and I have to drop the settings too much to achieve satisfactory gameplay (due to the restricted Vram issue), then I do at least have the option to exchange if I feel I have to. I'd like to keep the 970 as its running like a champ atm, Whatever I do, I'll be using Ocuk to buy from, thats for sure.:)

Personally I am extremely dissatisfied with NVidia and I’ve gone from someone who’s been almost exclusive to their brand (I even own a Shield tablet and was eyeing up a g-sync monitor) to someone who will almost certainly buy an AMD card next and for the foreseeable future. In reality it will mean nothing to NVidia, but their opinion no longer means much to me either.

This is similar to how I feel. Was planning on buying an expensive G-Sync monitor this month and another 970.

Although Nvidia won't feel my lack of a purchase in the slightest, if there are enough ppl like us...and I think there are. Consider the fact that I will now not recommend Nvidias products either. Then it should have some effect on their bottom line.

yeah, I think I will avoid nvidia from now on too. I don't appreciate the underhand tactic they've shown. Just debating on what to exchange my 970's for. Im thinking a 295x2

Hey Guys

this is open till the end of February to give you some breathing space.

Please contact my RMA staff in order to create a return on the cards before you send them back.

Thanks

Bailey

So for me that's Nvidia (not a hard decision as I like AMD and my Asus monitor is awesome without gsync) off my list to give money to.

Gigabyte won't be my next motherboard anymore, not hard as their boards of been **** recently anyway.

And MSI can take a run and Jump if I will buy their GPU's again or any of their products. EVGA looks good from here.

This goes for all the countless systems I build in the year for folk too.

This is a great business opportunity for OcUK, they've seen the bigger picture. What they lose, or have to pay now, will be made back ten fold further down the line, with new customers and people not wanting to shop elsewhere. It's a very good investment for them :)

Hats of to them for a stellar customer service.
