I returned my 2x 970's yesterday, to be fair I did come away with 2x 980's.

I just want to thank Gibbo and OcUK for outstanding customer service.

Even though I buy 95% of my equipment from you anyway this just proves what a great company you are.

:)

This whole thing has been engineered from start to finish so they think they could get off on technicalities if caught.

Swindlers, how come none of the OEMs saw the error either?

Update the first post with gibbo's updated reply how this is being handled by ocuk. If you start a thread atleast have the decency to keep it up to date.

Gibbo is free to make a thread, I'm avoiding the advertising of refunds as it's not OcUKs place to do it even though they are amazing in offering.

If people want information they can find it.

I just got my RMA number, but it says it says the desired action of the RMA is to replace, which is pointless as one 970 is going to be the same as the next when it comes to this issue. I will get on to customer services

I already called regarding this, its ok, its still a refund its just the system won't allow them to set it as refund. I called this morning!

because an efficient cooler is better at dissipating heat than the reference one.

thermal output =! running temperature.

if the thermal output is 200w, then it'll be 200w whether it's water cooled or passive.

ie, 290x will still dump a truck load more heat in to a case and if you dont believe me, go sit next to a 100w lightbulb for 10 minutes - that's the extra heat being dumped by a 290x on top of a 970.

fail argument.
