Brilliant stuff from Gibbo the Great!

Any update about £300 290x 8gb? :)

Being throwing everything at it all weekend and speaking to both the AIB's/AMD now to try to get such a deal to happen where OcUK is not losing money to sell at such a price.

They are pushing like crazy, hope to have a deal done, ordered and stock due for arrival later this week by lunch time.

PUSHING LIKE CRAZY GUYS! :)

Woooo :D

How is this possible as you cant offer a refund as the card wasnt purchased from you.... or can you??

Wouldn't ask how it is possible mate. That is a great offer from the man right there, you should be full of optimism. At the end of the day, they want to keep their customer base and if that means you being left disgusted with one of their competitors and more likely to come back to them in the future it is a win-win for you both.

The item is not faulty, or miss-represented by OcUK.

However OcUK is putting customers first and we will refund shipping upto £12.

Excellent and thanks for the confirmation regarding the return postage.

My KAF2 GTX 980 has been shipped this morning :)

Almighty Gibbo! :D

Again if they continue to refuse, because the stance from NV/AIB's is still on the basis it was not miss-sold and as such are refusing to support.

OcUK has support because they have a Gibbo and when my toys are out the pram I make a lot of noise. ;)

In short if they are still refusing in a few weeks time, then OcUK will try to help you with that card. :)

Well done Gibbo, this must be causing you a lot of extra work.

As a matter of interest, what is your personal opinion on NVIDIA's stance ?

Do you think that the GTX970 was mis-sold by them, or the AIB's ?

We can't but I am sure we can doing something to help out a couple of customers, like take their card back and refund them a fair price for it, we sell it in B-grade but at least then they have a couple of hundred pounds to put towards another card. :)

So would you say this is confirmation that there is definately a problem with the gtx 970 memory config?

I genuinely would, at this point in time. Running the exact same driver, performance has increased beyond what the difference in power should produce . I can finally see the whole 4GB of VRAM being filled up.

As previously stated, I have no comment to make. All I am interested in is doing the right thing by my customers. :)

Just want to make clear i've always used Overclockers.

I'm sending my 970 back and its going to take a month to cancel finance agreement and return my despoit.
Which means a month without a gfx card.
This dude said he bought a card from elsewhere and OcUK said they would possibly try to help (which i think is uber cool, dont get me wrong).
My point is, couldnt more be done to help someone is my situation, im sure im not the only one in it.
By the time they cancel my finance agreement, pay for postage on my 970 etc would only been a little extra to replace it with the KFA 980 and thus ensuring im super happy; as i wouldn't have to wait a minimum of a month before being able to order another card which wouldnt be as good as the 970, as obviously my funding it limited (hense finance agreement)
OcUK still get money (which is always good)
Would also ensure i keep coming back to OcUK, not that i would go elsewhere, and i carry on telling people i know to buy from OcUK aswell. (which i already do!)

If it was a case of return the card and im able to reorder another by the end of the week it wouldnt be a problem.

Oh well...

When refunding a finance agreement we have to comply to the FSA so it is their rules we have to legally abide to.

Total sods law. All this info about the VRAM issue was announced less than 48 hours after i recieved my card... someone up there hates me i think.

I like the sound of this. Still gutted I missed the lightening at 240 tbh and was hoping to see it drop down a bit again. I had in my head if the 8gb comes under the 300 mark I would get one of those.
