they will continue to sell . just because a small percentage of us notice doesn't mean the masses will.

as gibbo said 1 percent were sending cards back.

What do you mean come on Gibbo?

I've being requesting this since October with NVIDIA/AIB's, no more can be done until NVIDIA give a greenlight.

This is what happens when you move mountains, people start expecting you to part the sea.

This is why Scotty always exaggerated his repair estimates :P

I haven't seen any drops in games or stuttering the only game ive seen is far cry 4 BUT it is ubisoft i suspected the game its self. The one thing id like off Nvidia as compensation is some games I bought the MSI 970 not long after release and got no games with it

Just an update for you guys

Out of all the ones we have sold in total I have just ran a report at this exact moment and we have had 149 Gtx 970's back for this issue.

So this is a tiny proportion to the amount we have sold, again it is a fantastic card at the end of the day.

I also hope that you guys are happy with us offering this service, and I want your RMA procedure to be as smooth as possible.

We hope that once the returns process is complete (or before) can leave your opinion on the service on Trustpilot please?

Thanks all

Would be more than happy to as the service so far has been Outstanding.

NVidia as a company might be many things, but they aren't stupid when it comes to making money. If they are turning down 5 million quids worth of orders for 8gb cards from the current line up, it's because they believe they will earn more than 5m quid by NOT allowing this to happen. This will be from increased churn of the 970s and 980s when they release their next wave of cards (with an 8gb option), increased sales of new titans etc. They are effectively obsoleting sli setups of the 970s and 980s by restraining the memory, even though these cards might have the grunt to run games at high settings for a long time in sli with 8gb each card. People running sli tend to be enthusiasts with a lot of money to spend on their cards and naturally they buy the cards in pairs...

Well, after a lot of deliberation I have decided to change my step up with EVGA from a 970 FTW+ to a 980 reference. The cooler is lush and not I have downside to a mid tower I would like to heat to get exhausted out the back :)

Still refusing at present!
To you the customer it does not matter, OcUK has decided to cover cost for the brands which don't step up and support us. :)

I am not sure they can legally speaking. The Sale of Goods act applies to business as well as consumer transactions although it does provide more protection to consumers.

"By law, all descriptions - whether verbal, written, implied or given in an illustration - must be accurate and not misleading. If you describe goods inaccurately, the customer may have a claim against you for breach of contract, and it may put you in breach of the Trade Descriptions Act."

That applies to your suppliers just as much as it applies to yourselves. In this case the 970 does not meet the implied description of a 4GB - 256bit card as it is a non standard configuration that has performance considerations a standard 4GB - 256bit configuration would not suffer from. The lack of clear messaging around the memory configuration is where it all falls down.

Of course the issue is you do not want to upset your suppliers by taking them to task (too much at-least) over this, especially when the return volume is so low but it annoys me when large companies like NV, or some of their board partners turn their backs on retailers or end users.
