970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

hardline runs good on any card tho?
doesnt seem that demanding, not at 1080p anyway
but i mostly been riding around in cars with a shotty ><

TBH with gysnc and this scandal....Freesync and supporting AMD is long overdue for me.

Maybe they looked at the alternatives and they didn't suit their needs. It is their choice and I respect what anyone buys and don't feel the need to tell people they are wrong.

The GTX 970 suited my needs...I bought one in good faith to go SLI in march when I will purchase a IPS 1440p 144hz monitor....


Guess what? MY gtx 970 isn't up to the job in SLI as its gimped by Vram...:mad:

I'd now buy a 980 GTX costing nearly double under no circumstances.

NV are wrong

This isn't an attack on you, but it's amazing on how one bad experience can change your preferences for a long time.

For example, I've owned one Nvidia card which was bad, and I've always bought AMD since, even though I was probably just unlucky. I almost bought a 970, but this debacle has changed my mind and I'll probably be AMD for quite a while yet.
 
Having second thoughts about these cards, a few times already i've been doing something like watching a video on a website or playing L4D2 and the screen would go black/grey for a few seconds and then recover. I was playing just now when i had that happen, mentioned it and my friend said he has the same thing some times.. and what do you know he mentioned having a 970 without me even saying anything about that card first :(

May send it back this month afterall.

OcUKs CS used to be shocking too in the Spie era. It's nice to see the massive shift in recent times.
 
Love my 970 G1 gaming.. Dying light is super smooth.. no games trouble me whatsoever at 1080p max settings..

dont really understand returning a card that has zero flaws for what i need it to do.

+ my card OC's like mad and temps dont go over 65 when playing dying light..

if u cant afford central heating in ur house then buy the 290xs :D

I've got 9 (yes 9!) fans running at the minute :)

I did try each card individually to see if one may be faulty but the both performed exactly the same. The graphics quality in the tomb raider benchmark was awful compared to the 970's.

My 3 previous cards have been AMD so I was expecting quite a lot from these cards. I'm just not willing to shell out for a new case when the one I've got is only 18 months old and has been great for all my previous cards.

Stick with it. If you figure out the issue and get them working, they'll be great.

Tomb Raider is flawless on CF 290s.

Yep gave them £2800 for a complete top end self build (8800 gtx @ launch lol)

My Benq 24 inch monitor arrived doa and I was told there was nothing they could so go back to Benq.

Really soured my opinion of the company and I still have not used them for anything major since
