still? it was never a good choice over two 7950's. single 7950 > 970, yes. two of them? 970 sli or 290x crossfire or dont bother.

The 970 would probably be slightly ahead. Albeit with 3584MB of RAM rated at the proper speed and 512 of slower RAM.

This is why I would prefer to be able to get a refund.

Not much

They will probably launch the Max Titan in the next few months meaning the 980 can move down to mid range and if there is no demand for the 970 just drop it from the line up.

Having said that I think the 970 will continue to sell in large numbers.

I sold SLI 770's for a single 970 @ 1440p. I soon bought another 970 and am more than happy with the performance now (Though I did change the stock coolers on my Inno3D 970's as they were bad)

Personally I wouldn't go a single 970 for 1440p, then again I want to run everything on max, and actually lost performance from SLI 770's.

max titan will be $1349 - so will be in the uber nice pricing , keeping the 980 and 970 where it is IMO.

Doubtful a refund from Nvidia, maybe at the retailers discretion but it's not on them tbh.
Perhaps a free game code at best incoming for 970 owners?

Whether or not we will get refunded is an unknown.

And I am not angry. I'm not cursing nvidia, crying for blood, blablabla.

But I have had performance issues which I have patiently waited to be fixed (gaming at 4k) and it doesn't look like that going to happen.

I can tell you from the benching threads that the performance of 3 way GTX 970s is top notch.

Some people could pick up some real bargains.
