Keep the 970's
With the swift you will want to be pushing high refresh rates so you will not be running DSR or massive amount of AA anyway
I have AC unity running on 6gb cards and dont see north of 3.2gb usage most of the time, it is however a very buggy game

Having high frame rate doesn't guarantee a smooth gameplay for the 970s...there are already 970s users reporting that they are getting stuttering even at solid 60fps.

See above, the games ive seen mentioned ive also seen general complaints about, leading me to suspect the few games in question
The point being, to push high frame rates at 2560 you are going to be turning down the most likely vram intensive settings anyway
