Got potential to sell my 980. Ideally I'd like the extra VRAM (monitor is 1440p). Probably looking at the EVGA SC2 ICX. Speed boost looks decent. Anyone gone via this path?
 
Probably shouldn't reply as I didn't go this path, but can confirm the 1080 runs 1440p 144hz brilliantly. I went from a rx470 (version was almost a 480) and huge increase as expected.

On games like TW3 and the like you wont get anywhere near 144hz, but on Overwatch I do (1700x Cpu) and BF1 is anywhere from 80-100+fps.

So all i can say is its a great card for 1440p.

Benchmarks seem to suggest a rather large upgrade too. Vega may not be that far away though. Maybe!
