Hey guys, I have a problem that's only just cropped up now.

So while playing Final fantasy XIV my screen will go black, Then come back with the game still running fine. However, It does this over and over and over and over, Sometimes 10 minutes apart sometimes longer.

My main screen is a Swift running at 1440p 144hz am also running windows 10 Insider preview. I was playing GTA today and it never occurred it only seems to be with this FF XIV, I run it window mode too so I can youtube on my other screen.

The one thing that worries me the most is I was updating my firmware on my quadcopter via usb and I burnt the board out and I have a funny feeling it could have sent voltage back through the usb port and maybe damaged the mobo? But... Most likely not, I don't really get it. So if anyone can shed some light that be great.

Also, I've put all my overclocking settings off to see if that was it but its still doing it standard clocks.

Okay so, I finally reinstalled Windows 8.1 today and my god, The drivers crashed over and over and over and over and over. For the tiny break I got I managed to use DDU to nuke the drivers and am now currently driverless.

HOWEVER, With no drivers installed I have not black screen'd once, I can watch youtube and such with no problems.

So....?

Is it just a bad roll of drivers or is my GPU really bitten the dust? I had to get my friend to send the latest nivida drivers via dropbox as downloading them off the site seems broken for me.

Going to try these drivers but if not... well I donno, Might be time to get in touch with OC about a RMA. The only worry being my 980 has a waterblock on it :(

With Swift try changing your monitor cable. This really is an issue for many. Dont ask why just try it!!

I remember having this problem. Do you use gpu tweak or any software that changes the Hz of the monitor? I uninstalled gpu tweak and stopped any programs from changing the Hz fixed my problem

Well i hope its not a issue with the screen cause i just tried my friends psu on my computer and it never happen once...

This problem still ocurred with my swift unplugged and using my asus 1080p. Still had the issue.

So am very unhappy. It looks like my 1100w supra psu is dead and ive had it for around a year. Just ordered a 650w corsair limits my upgrade power but i prefer the brand. I heard good things about supra however am sure its under warranty. Gonna get a refund or sell it on.

Did you read up about the psu you just bought first? The past could years lots of people been slating corsair psu's. Evga or superflower are the recommended psu's from here.

Sorry its a superflower and i had a corsais psu that lasted me 4 years. This super never made it to one. Gonna RMA it shortly.

Okay so, Having the PSU out and having a look at it. There's a really bad coilwhine coming from the fan, Also on eco mode. If the fan comes on after being off my entire computer black screens then restarts.

Am now 120% sure this PSU is stuffed.

So, Am guessing am okay to RMA this? I bought it from OC so am guessing I won't have a issue at all.
