980 SLI Which ports?

Had a bit of a mare to get my new 980's working when I connected each one to a different monitor, couldn't get both the monitors to display simultaneously although could switch between them in Nvidia control panel.

They do seem to work okay if I plug both display port connectors into the same card though and my system says SLI is enabled.

Is this okay?

Presume I'm getting full acceleration?

Just benchmarked DA: Inquisition at 50 FPS @ 1440p with everything on ultra, seems really slow.

You score for DA is about right for a pair of 980s.


Your monitor setup the others will need to answer as they will know a lot more than me about multi monitors.

Yes, I'm used to SLI having upgraded from twin 580's.

These were each connected to my monitors individually, but I'm struggling with the 980's to do that, have to plug both cables into one card.

Wanted to make sure I wasn't handicapping my system doing that.

Both connectors in one card is how you are supposed to do SLI unless you are doing surround etc.
