980 temps hot

hi i got me self a new asus rampage 3 m/b and 980x cpu have remounted the heatsink twice now and the temps are really high i think.I am watercooled so temps should be lower.I had a qx9650 before and temps use to idle around 23 to 25 and that was with 1.36v on cpu and this 980x is like only using 1.23 and its hotter

I7's run slighty hotter then Core2quads.

That and you are now cooling a 6 core cpu, instead of a 4 core, and not to mention with hyperthreading running, that will heat up the cpu too.

I thought the fact it was 32nm meant it ran cooler than 4 core i7's (45nm)?

I would say the extra 2 hyperthreaded cores would put it about on par?
