9800 GT Random Lockups

Hi all

Brought a 9800 GT the other day and seem to be having some problems with it

PC spec is:

PSU Tagan 480
MSI N1996 Motherboard
1gig Ram
1.8 Dual Core CPU
160GB HDD

Problem is that the graphics on screen (in game) will go distorted and the PC will then lock up..

I am using the latest nvidia drivers. I have updated the motherboard BIOS. I have rebuild PC & unplugged things that are not needed (well DVD Writer). I have increased voltage on RAM a little. PC is not overclocked in anyway. I have also tried this GFX in another PC with a ASRock MB and I am getting the same result. Before I take it back I wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas I could try

The lock up could happen with in 15 mins of playing a game or 4/5 hours playing a game.

Been their done that had it with my 8800gt things would turn purple and pc would become unstable i rma mine recently from dabs getting money back.

I know the shop I get it from will moan like hell... Want to test it (which is fair enough) but they will take a week to do it and the no dount say there is nothing wrong and charge me for it

My stepson just brought this with his Xmas money and he is not happy that its not working.. Dont blame him really

So today I got a replacement and again this is what happening

Anyone got any ideas as to what might cause this

If anyone can offer any ideas that would be great before I head back tomorrow morning

any ideas. System in not over clocked. This happened 40 mins after installing card
