9800 GTX Reviews

Another review, updated op.:)

'Evolution, Not Revolution

Those looking for a card that destroys the 8800 GTX need not apply. The 9800 GTX should not be looked as a successor to the 8800 GTX cards

Oh dear, i hope Nvidia stop this April Fool's before to long. :D

Come on, put us out of our misery Nvidia, get the haha got yer stories up. :p

From that review :-

'In fact, if you were to overclock a GeForce 8800 GTS 512 graphics card, you would end up with 9800 GTX performance and with the 8800 GTS 512 currently priced around $50 US less, this does make justifying the new 9800 GTX quite difficult.

Pmsl, this is great, of course you would seen as the 9800 GTX is the exact same card, just slightly clocked higher on the shaders/memory. :D :D

Yup, its absolutely useless, it doesn't fit in anywhere.

The same card but called 8800 GTS 512mb, is gona be about £100 cheaper on here (as it got upped last night by mistake), and pointless buying them for TRi SLi as well, as 3x GTX's with bigger bus's and more memory can also be TRi SLi'd, and they are cheaper as well. :D

I can see Nvidia forcing ppl to buy these though, by telling their partners, if they have any GTX's etc... kicking about, to bin them, so they can't be bought once the ones out there run out, and also they'll probably slow their production down on their first lot of these cards (8800 GTS 512mbs), and just put them all in storage so that they end up hard to find, so that ppl have no option but to buy these dearer ones as well, as they done that with the 8800 GT, they were storing them all up, and just trickling them out so that they could keep their prices high, and also so that ppl would buy the dearer 8800 GTS 512mb's when they launched instead, GT shortage was a load of guff, the ***** knew what they were doing, they ain't stupid, they must have a plan with these, as think about it, no one is stupid enough to re-launch the same cards at more expensive prices. :)

Jesus, im getting inundated with orders already, anyone want a job!!!

Be quick in buying, once Nvidia get wind im undercutting em, they'll no doubt force me to close down with legal action.

Ive just realised now why Nvidia have released this card, its not to be bought no, its to increase sales of their cheaper 8800 GTS's, and get the last of their GTX/Ultra's snapped up (as they must have a fair few left). :)

Firingsquads review now up, updated op.

'The problem though is that the graphics landscape has changed quite a bit in the past six months. As we stated before, the introduction of the GeForce 8800 GT and 8800 GTS 512MB were game changing products that really raised our expectations when it comes to performance. Because of its conservative clocks, the 9800 GTX adds so little over the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB that a factory OC’ed GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB card like the EVGA e-GeForce 8800 GTS SSC should be able to outrun it in games!'

Its another cracker. :D

In one of those reviews, they say Nvidia's gona drop the prices of the 8800 GTS 512mb and the GT even more for it to fit in, now hows that gona work Nvidia, how is dropping the exact same cards price even lower gona get people to start buying your even dearer one.:D

Deary me, Nvidia are owning themselves big style, what a shambles, dropping the prices even lower of your original 9800 GTX's is not going to boost sales of your much dearer ones im afraid, its going to boost the sales of your much cheaper ones you muppets. :p

Hello LoadsaMoney, bit-tech have also done a review of the Nvidia 9800 GTX. Though, I suppose it doesn't really make any difference since all of the reviews are saying roughly the same thing. :p:)

Thanks, added to op. :)

Yeah its a pointless release, but as was said above, its probably targeted at those not in the know, those who will think its better than the the GTS as its called a GTX (GTX being Nvidia's top card naming), and its a bigger number. :(
