I know this is unlikely but does anyone have an idea as to how big the 9800 GTX is goin to be? Like how many pci slots it will take up on the case?
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

The 9800GTX is identical to the 8800GTS with the exception of a slight overclock, and an additional SLI connector.
I dont mean to be nasty but i hate nvidia, they are like the big bully waiting for you after school, and this is why ATI are, and always will be my choice, mainly because ati actually care about there customers and listen.
and still remember them, they would remember NV were the same as ATI at the moment. They always brought the excitments to the customers with amazing prices. But after they swallowed 3DFX and smashed S3 (The ones own Voodoo3D and Savage3D), they have the power to watch and lead the market. There's nothing to be blamed, tbh.why is it bigger than a gts (I dont think a GTS is as big as a gtx?) if that's all it is, except the things mentioned above ??

Does the 9800GTX not need the nvio(or whatever) chip then? Is it now built into the GPU?

G92/G94 already has an integrated NVIO controller. Not sure about DisplayPort support as per the G94.Does the 9800GTX not need the nvio(or whatever) chip then? Is it now built into the GPU?

Think the switch of all the AMD athlon fanboys to Core 2 Duo's illustrates there is little brand loyalty in this industry.
