9800 Pro and 9800XT whats the differance?

As the title really, can any one tell me what one card offers over the other?
I have been looking at getting a new AGP card for around the £100 - £120 ish mark but after reading another post on here saying replace your 9800 pro with another 9800 pro i thought i would take a look at them, plenty of 9800 pros to be had but also a few new 9800XT at a sensible price (i think)

9800 XT is a revised/improved version of the 9800 Pro, it has higher clock speeds, 256MB of memory as standard and a revised/improved cooler.

For £120 you'd be much better off getting an AGP 7600 GT though, it is significantly faster than a 9800 Pro/XT which aren't really worth the prices they would cost new.

Well the XT is £83 inc shipping, £20 to £40 less than what i was looking to spend,
But as you say the 7600GT looks good,
Im not a huge gamer at the moment due to finding the time to play but i do want to make a graphics upgrade to this system before it is to late, and do plan to play more games in the near future, and also looking at getting a new 20 or 24" TFT to replace my 19" CRT, i guess the 9800 would struggle a bit more with the res on a 24" TFT than the 7600 would.

As much as I'm madly in love with the 9800 series, with the AGP 7600 costing £120, it'd be foolish to buy one. Them 7600GT's are actually a little quicker than 6800 Ultras!!

There are a few 9800 varient experts on here but i have a nice example running on my boys pc. To put it very basicaly, the vast majority of later 9800pros had the right memory and core to be flashed with an XT bios which enabled looser mem timings and higher clocks.
Great cards at the time and if you play DX8 or below games then newer cards will not show much benafit.
be aware that not all 9800 pros are the same with some being 128bit bandwidth but most being 256bit. This affects the performance in a big way but as i said others on here are far more technical in the ways of one of the greatest OCing cards of all time.

Thanks for all the help, I think i will look at the 7600 cards, will make more sense in the long for the sake of an extra £40 over the 9800XT.

The 7800 AGP variant is supposed to be a cracking card and im sure they arnt that much

There's also a AGP version of the 7600GS I've seen available for pre-order for £67. Pretty good value i think.
