9800 Temps and delidding

Delidded my 9800X3D.. just cos' it's fun.

Granted every chip is a lottery in terms of clocks and temp wise etc, but here is a reference one could expect from this chip.. I haven't done extensive testing since i'm 'meant' to be working ahem so will play more this weekend, so results are from the profiles i have been briefly playing with before delidding. 10min CB R23.

Stock - No Expo
CPU Idle: 39-41c
CPU Load: 81c
CB: 23068

Stock - No Expo Delidded
CPU Idle: 34-38c
CPU Load: 68c
CB: 23287

Stock - Expo
CPU Idle: 45-50c
CPU Load: 84c
CB: 22868

Stock - Expo Delidded
CPU Idle: 39-41c
CPU Load: 72c
CB: 23315

EXPO, PBO Enabled, CO-40, +200mhz, x10 Scalar
CPU Idle: 40-41c
CPU Load: 76c
CB: 23710

Which cooler are you using?
Cinebench is the worst case scenario, and IF your usage is similar to it, you bought the wrong processor.
The 9800x3D should run cooler than the 7800x3D, apparently.
Mine, using a EKWB nucleus 360 at 100% pump and only 30% fans won’t go past 70C on any 3D Mark benchmark, as it would be more realistic load for a gaming CPU.

Custom cooling using TG Mycrodie block. Pump at 30% speed. Fans at 500rpm. Games and applications do not exceed 60c. Will provide 3D benchmarks when i have time. Idle temps between a 7800X3D and 9800X3d are near the same. The 9800X3D only runs cooler than the other on load.

Looks worth if your into that, the added expo non expo was interesting showing 3°to 4°in temps.

What speed is the memory and cas ?

I haven’t played around with the memory timings and left them on stock expo. Memory is the 2x32gb gskill trident a neo cl30 kit
