I was in a high street competitor yesterday and noticed a 9800GS for sale. Being out of the gfx card loop I didn't know what this was. It had 768mb and was "DX10" (rather than 10.1). My instant reaction was that it could be a rebranded 8800GTX?

Does anyone know what this is?

Just so you know no nv cards are dx10.1 and that includes the gtx series but never heard of the 9800gs. Only card that has that memory is the 8800gtx from what i know.

It was rumoured to be coming out as the slowest of the 9800 series cards. Seeing as the 9800GT = 8800GT performance then the 9800GS = 8800GS performance (so slower than the 9600GT). Thats going to confuse some people.
