Indeed I did, but never again, due to microstuttering 30fps felt more more like 20fps, plus the support was horrid.

Sadly though, the performance isn't similar. Call me a fanboy, but a good friend of mine, with a similar, if not identical setup, apart from using an overclocked GTS, doesn't get nearly as good performance as I do. You've also overlooked what resolution this guy is going to be playing at, a 22" monitor fine, but if he uses 24" monitor?! the X2 will destroy the 9800GTX.

Well I had a voltmodded 8800GTS 512mb ..900core and 2.3ghz shader.....and my current 3870/3850 crossfire setup is faster...especially with 4xAA and 16xAF. My minfps in CoD4 is always around 55-60, average is like 130. At the same settings with my 8800GTS 512mb the average was 90-100 and minimum sometimes as low as 18 when there was lots of smoke on the screen.

I know that thanks, I was just saying hypothetically, to solve the issue in order to get him the fastest card, get a GX2 and that way he definately has it...

X2's the better out of those 2, so if you can afford it, get it.

Not quite, the +1 only brings it back to 0....
A hotfix is CORRECTING a problem, not improving something beyond its normal performance...
Like say the nVidia detonator 40s did....the good old days!

other than the 9800GTX? Why may I ask, its basically a faster 8800GTS...Are you mad? Do you own one? Have you got issues with it?
Ah of course, you're just jumping on the "We hate 9800xxx bandwagon"
To be honest either card would do really taking into account the hotfix, wouldn't really wanna pay more than £50 more for the X2 though...
