Hey I've currently got a XFX 8800GS 384MB card and looking to get the Asus 9800GTX+

Will I see much improvement in my games?

How much extra power (Watts) does the card use compared to the 8800GS?

Is heat much more of an issue because it will be going into a shuttle once I check the measurements to see if it fits?

Also the card needs to be single slot due to the side of my case being in the way, by the looks of the pic it is but I want to check.

Thanks for any help.

You will definitely see an improvement in games, id say it would be about 80% quicker than your old card.
It would probably have at least 50% extra power draw.
And it definitely generates more heat.

How much more power is 50% I don't know the rated wattage of the 8800GS?
Heat could be an issue though.

Why not go for a GTX 260?

Not much more and a waay better investment.

All 260s are dual slot coolers (I think) and won't fit inside my case.

the gtx 260 should only use about 350w at load so a 550 to 650w psu is fine.
and the heat issue isnt a problem, get an aftermarket cooler for the gfx card or just buy one already on.

350w your kidding me

# Idle/2D power mode: approx. 25W
# Blu-ray DVD playback mode: approx. 35W
# Full 3D performance mode: varies - worst case TDP 182W for GTX 260
