this card is basically two 8800 gts sandwiched together so i was wondering is it worth upgrading to one of these or just go SLi with another 8800GTX?

Is your GTX struggling?

What do you use it for? what Res are your running?

I too have been considering an upgrade from my 8800GTS 512

no not at all struggling, i just go as high as i can with good fps, usually 1920 * 1200

i was wondering whether go for the 9800GTX2 with my P35 board or picking up a 780i board and adding a new 8800GTX just for better performance and eye candy in games

Personally I;d get the 280GTX or two 8800GTX in SLI.

If you look the thread in here about the problems with the limited memory on the GX2 and the stuttering when it pages.

8800GTX can be had for £70-£80 now 2nd hand - bargain.

needs to be a BFG 8800GTX OC2!

brand new they still around the £250 - £300 mark!

I bet you can find a BFG 8800GTX OC2 2nd hand for £100. If not today, at some point in the next few weeks somebody will be selling one since they have upgraded to 4870/GTX280/4870x2.

so where is the best place to find second hand components??????lol

Members Market on here - you need 250 posts and been a member for 90 days which you qualify.

You need to enable trust and then within 24hrs you will have access to the market.

That well known auction site too but prices are still high on there and more realistic on here cause we are in the know ;)

Last BFG 8800GTX sold for £90 delivered on 3rd July on MM.

You can also put up a post in the wanted section.

There is a XFX extreme 8800GTX for sale atm which might match your bfg clocks.

Im happy with my GX2, still the best card on the market, dont think id bother upgrading from an 8800GTX tho, I'd give it 6-12 months and see whats what.

i'm in a similar situation. The cost of graphics card + mobo is rather expensive in comparison to just buying a new graphics card ( say a 9800gx2 which i think is the highest performing single card)

Tempting to SLI an 8800GTX if you could for £80 though?

Hell, 6 months ago people would have killed their sister for two 800GTX's in SLI costing over £600
