9800Pro ATI Alternative!

My girls 9800Pro has just died playing NWN2! We're stuck with a tiny budget at the moment so its AGP only for her i'm afraid!

Requirments :-

• It's got to be at least as good or better than a HIS 9800Pro
  
• AGP is a must
  
• Cost between £0 to £70 MAX
  
• To save a full reinstall of Windows it'd be better if it was ATI
  
• Not a downgrade, equal or better performance.

just to point out mate you don't need to reinstall windows when changing gfx card even between manufacturers just install the correct driver and all will be fine.

If I was in your situation the following would be a good card to get.

I've heard of weird problems occuring though when you go from ATI to Nvidia without reinstalling windows?

2nd hand 9800pros go for very little on the 'bay.

All you have to do is take the old one out and put the new one in if you do that.

No need to reinstall for changing cards. Just make sure you uninstall the old drivers first!
A 9800pro from the bay would do great, but a perhaps better buy would be a 6600gt.

Whats happened to the 9800 Pro? My gf also has one! and the fan just went on that and I upgraded it to a Artic cooler!

If you can spare the little bit extra then i'd recommend a 7600GT or X1650XT.

If not then the 7300GT is a very nice card.
