9800pro vs a x1650???

Well the x1650 is the newer slightly faster one I think. But thats all I know.

In theory the 1650 has better shader capabilities and has support for SM3 which the 9800 lacks... however except at high res theres prolly not much performance difference...

Well the X800XT is about double the speed of the 9800 Pro, and the X1650XT is a bit faster than the X800XT again.

So in reality the X1650XT is around 2-2.5x the speed of the 9800 Pro, but has many more features.

Just remember there's a considerable difference between the X1650 Pro and the X1650XT.
The X1650 Pro is more or less a rebadged X1600XT which despite promising clock speeds was truly the class retard of graphics cards with it at times hardly outpacing the previous generation GeForce 6600GT and the Radeon X800GT/GTO. This is made worse when some X1650 Pro's are fitted with slower GDDR2 than the 1400mhz GDDR3.

In short:
X1650 Pro - A bit quicker than the 9800 Pro
X1650XT - A lot quicker than the 9800 pro.

Hope that helps,

Mul

I was assuming it was a bog standard x1650... if its the x1650XT then yes it will be considerably faster than the 9800 pro... the XT is almost twice as fast as the 1650 pro and more than twice as fast as the vanilla variant.
