How much are 9800 Pro's worth these days? Whats max somebody should pay for one?

Max is around £45-£50 i've seen, but that was with a custom cooler. So £40 for stock

yeah i also ran BF2 on a 9800 pro for a good while - pretty good cards ( imo )

9800 pro is slower than a standard 6600GT , and 2nd hand i wouldnt touch one for no more than £35, so 9800 pro even less... its like 4 years old man !!!

it may well be, but it still performs well in games today

Its rather impressive when you think about it. The card is still able to play most of todays titles in 10x7, with rather nice texture/detail settings. Not many cards can boast that

yeah for the age of the card you cant fuss really.

The Geforce 4 ti4600 was another one of those cards that seemed to go for ages. (they are naff by todays standards but 2003-2005 good cards)

thats too low a price, god, you make them sound like there terrible cards!! and they are not over 4 years old they are 3 and a half years old. they have just under the power of a 6600GT and will play battlefield 2 in medium quality with no AA/AF 1024X768. i know this because i had one myself

price wise your looking at around £45 to pick one up given 9600XT`s are going for £35 and GF4TI 4200 still fetch £20/£25

Im sorry, but a 9800 pro is too old to consider making a purchase unless its dirt cheap. 6600GT`s can be had for as little as £35 in some places , and athough its a decent card, it cant throw a polygon on oblivion with a decent resolution. I not knocking the 9800 pro, it was a top card in its day, but by todays standards its a bit poo, and thus has a value to that fact. If they were selling them new i seriously doubt it would be more than £40 , but gamers buy gamers cards , and the 9800 pro cant handle the latest games at decent resolutions with AA & AF and HDR. People can pay what they like for a card, but its got to be worth a purchase value , and i wouldnt part with £25 for a card well over 3 years old.

I run dual screen, hi-res everything, and it looks the biz with my 9800pro.

In games - granted, BF2 isn't playable on the highest setting, but with 1024 resolution and everything on at least medium with bits of it on high, it looks awesome. I can't see myself buying a new card for at least a year.

My comments may seem harsh, but the difference in visual and playability on the latest range of cards has totally surpassed what the 9800 pro can do. My life, we are talking 2nd hand here with ATi 9800 series, and it isnt worth a lot when for a few more quid, you can get yourself a decent card with more life in it. Im a gamer , and the 9800 pro was in 2003 !!!!!! :eek:

The 9800pro is going for around £75 brand new, and that's because they're good, stable cards, that wont die any time soon :cool:

I've had three of the ******** die on me. Got the first two replaced under warranty but the third gave up the ghost just before Christmas and was out of warranty. I wouldn't touch another one now.
