Has anyone tried running an Oculus or Vive on a 980m? I've run the Oculus compatibility tool and it shows my machine as compatible, I've checked that the HDMI port is directly connected to the dGPU instead of intel but I cant really find anything to say how games perform. Ideally would like to know how Audioshield and Brookhaven experiment perform.

I would say based on a score of 5.7 it may run some of the basic games at a push but the experience will be poor. My first Vive setup run at 7.8 using an OC GTX970 but it wasn't long before I upgraded to a GTX1070 as I wanted better.

my first experience with VR was a vive hooked up to a laptop with 980m. played brookhaven, thrill of the fight, space pirate trainer....handled them no problem.

Might need to rely on the reprojection thingy that will drop it 45 frames. You'll hardly notice the difference (honest) especially if it means you can jump on board the VR train quicker.
