980ti advice

Well bugger me.

Didn't the average/ cheapest price creep up to around £500+ though at some point? I seem to recall them being way overpriced at the time I was looking. I could be wrong...

No, they have always been able to be bought for ~£400. Obviously more if you want a premium/specfic model but that is the same for every card.

I shall do my best to hold fire, just hope the vr doesn't arrive before the announcements early june!

Thanks for the input.

Evga 90 day step up program could be an option for you. Buy brand new 980ti to play with your VR as soon as you get it. When new cards arrive , just step up to 1080 if you want. You pay only the difference between what you paid for your original product and the new product as listed at the EVGA Store. If the price of 980ti plummet by then, you are not bothered. I have done that before and can only recommend. BTW, egva has great products and best customer service around.
Well, there is a risk, 1080 price could be lower than you pay for 980ti now. In this case, buying 980 or 970 could be a better option.
