I've recently been having temp issues, some programs say 40c idle, 50c and even 60c idle.

Tried a custom fan curve but no luck. Sometimes MSI AB says it's idle at 33c all well and good, but when it's idle at 50c.. i get worried.

I set the fan to 70% speed and could hear a faint sort of scratching sound. At 60 or 65 I cannot hear it. I hear scratching sounds often and Just pass it off as a noisy HDD etc.

I dont think I can replace the paste on my card without buggering the warranty.

Have been considering a new, smaller case and all new fans at this point.

Micro atx board in a full sized tower.. you get the picture. maybe not enough air getting to stuff? 2 front intake, 2 top exhaust stock fans.

I have a corsair air 240 sitting here, but changed cases back when I had my 290 because the side panel was hot to the touch.

Ok opened the case panel and got a little light inside in the case. The closest area I can detect the sounds is between the end of the card and the bracket where it's screwed in. There's no sag btw. it is definitely at 70% fan speed. Cannot see ANY wobble though, even slightly.

I span all 3 fans on my card by finger and did not any clicking or anything like I'm hearing.

I am not sure mate, maybe a fan is out of balance and that is why the noise occurs when its rotating at high speed, that would not explain the high idle temp though.

My room is normally hot anyway, even with a window open. Thanks so far I appreciate it. Push comes to shove I will RMA. Purchased it around the day it came out.
