When I use precision X it ollows overvolting to 1.3v whereas using MSI Afterburner the core voltage mV only goes to +50 which I believe is around 1.250v.

Is there a way of 'unlocking' this overvolt feature that Precision offers and other features such as Kboost?

I would use Precision but the interface isnt as good as Afterburner, the monitoring is not as good and it also seems to cause stutter somehow

Actually you can, in the .cfg make sure power saving is disabled, unofficial over clocking is enabled and also make sure force voltage is enabled. You need to change these from the default settings. Msi ab is much better and has been for years if you know how to use it.

Depends on the architecture, 1.3v+ on Maxwell is not possible unless you use the hard mod or pencil mod. Keplar allowed for I2C commands which allowed for a constant voltage forced up to 1.6v although not all keplar cards allowed this. Everything except the 780Ti could be clocked up to 1.6v via slave/buck controller through I2C commands through hexadecimal.

I've just switched over to afterburner as precision for some reason when I first startup causes typing to be delayed for around 10-15 seconds, not a big deal but afterburner doesn't have the issue. Both allow the same overvoltage on my card.

As stated above you can edit the config, custom bios can help with holding a higher overclock.
