Hello, just got a 980ti with an EK FC waterblock preinstalled, just wanna check the temps to see if i need to redo the paste or not.

Im getting 5 degrees delta on idle and 26 on load, that equates to 30 degrees idle and 51 load.

Its about 10 degrees lower than my 290s but i remember seeing people showing 40 degrees under load in a video a while back so i thought i better see what you guys get. If im getting above average for an EK block then ill repaste it.

Cheers.

your idle should be with 1 or 2c of your water temp, and somewhere around 6-10c delta under load.

What pump you using?

My 980ti has a 6c delta under-load from my water temp

Sounds like the block needs remounted to me

My 980ti is in the same loop as CPU with an EK predator 360 and I see idle temps of 30c and load temps of about 51/52c, bearing in mind I use a very subdued fan profile to keep noise as low as possible, the pump and fans are barely running at idle and never reach anywhere near full speed even under load.

That is with GPU clocked to 1530 on the core and 110% power.

My loop isnt getting warm at all, this was my 290x crossfire loop so its totaly overkill for 980s, its got 1x480,1x360 and 1x240 thick rads in the GPU loop, the CPU has its own loop.

Sounds like m8 paste needs redoing then i guess looking at MrMDs

Cheers guys.

edit: btw what you guys using for overclocking? I gave AB a go, it let me get to 1520/4000 with the +83mv and 110% power but i assume theres more performance to be had with more voltage.

Yea deffo souunds like you need to redo the paste, with that much rad space your water temp shouldnt be increasing much at all,you only need a very thin layer to get optimal heat transfer.

AB is the goto choice for overclocking. For more voltage you will need to flash a custom bios to increase the voltage limit.Although you are at the top end for 24/7 clocks as it is,doubt their is much left to be had.Probily gonna be hitting the power-limit with those clocks in quite a few games and could benefit from a higher power limit as opposed to extra voltage

My strix does 1530 on stock volts because it's voltage locked, I'm not sure more power is always the answer but worth a try.

I dunno how on earth you managed to get your delta so low, i just remounted the block and ive got it down to about 15 degrees so im getting 45 now under load. The block was fitted really poorly, he had overlapped aload of pads so they were holding it off a bit. The delta only goes up to 20 degrees though when i use 120% power and 1.28v which ive flashed both the cards to, before the stock voltage was only 1.05v lol.

Im happy at that though, i removed one of my rads also, these 980s just dont need the amount i was using and the other rad was just slowing the flow down causing the pump to make more noise than the fans did anyway.
