I have been running my watercooled 3770k overclocked at 4.8 and a 680 with no issues for the last two years.
Today I installed an Evga 980ti SC+ with the stock cooler (loop is now just doing CPU for the time being) on start up I was getting Windows boot errors where it would say PC repair and the windows 10 logo would just spin and then load a repair screen or I would just end up with a black screen after the motherboard flash screen.
I figured that maybe my C drive was not reading correctly so I restored it to a Macrium image, this then failed halfway. I then done a clean install of Windows 10 this worked up until desktop and then it would freeze, on restart I got the same error messages again.
After playing around I turned my overclock off entirely and it now seems stable with no more error messages on start. Could it be my Corsair AX850 is not powerful enough?
System info:
3770K
Asus Sabertooth Z77
8Gb Samsung Green overclocked to 2133Mhz
Samsung Evo 840
Crucial M4
WD 1TB Black
LG BD-RW
Corsair AX850
Lampton FC5 V2 fan controller.
