9900k / 9700k or something else

it all depends on what you do with your pc. 9700k is probably the best gaming option still . if you a content creator and gaming you be looking at amd.

Not anymore...the 3900x destroys the 9900k in premier...
Yes. I said as much in this thread once the benchmarks came out. A very impressive increase given the Intel bias that Premiere has had historically. They really pulled some magic out the hat on this.

Well depending on resolution. If you are at 1440p hen a 3900x is where it’s at for gaming and productivity...

It’s the king of the all rounder....the 3700x also beats the 9900k in cinebench lol and at 1440p performs like a 3900x in games

But is only £329

Suggesting intel now for gaming unless you game at 1080p is just bad advice.

not really the intel chips are still faster in gaming. anyone suggesting otherwise is talking bs.

if you do other than just gaming fine. but gaming intel has the upper hand still. cinebench LOL if you buy a cpu based on cinebench you need you head looking at.

Intel - AMD it’s the same hand.

No it doesn’t...it all depends on resolution...something you seem to conveniently omit form your posts :p

And now the gap just got even smaller....intel 9 series Is overpriced tat :p 8/8 at £379 is just rubbish....it’s 2019 !

Well I think this has got way off topic ROFL I am asking about best cpu for gaming ONLY will be at 1440p and I would like to use it for at least 4 / 5 years thanks

Yeah it’s very poor value. You don’t even get a HSF with the chip, so it’s even worse.

the gap = slower. intel charge that much because its faster . there is like 50 benchmarks showing anything on 9 series intel is faster in games. i know you went from a intel 9900k and you got the amd bug but intel is faster at gaming regardless.

I’d go with 3900X it’s the most forward looking system. Pair with a decent motherboard and you should get a drop in upgrade.

There as been a few very good replies about that at 1440p both amd and intel preform the same intel lead is at 1080p.

We can only guess what the future holds but intel atm are behind on nearly everything but a lead in 1080p by a very small margain

Intel will fight back and pull ahead with new cpu though and I think intel will rush the 10nm out and match amd on cores

But as it stands atm at 1440p Ryzen 3700x is better value and the 3900x is better all round

But on intel side if that who you decide to go with give a couple of weeks and we might see a bigger price drop from intel which if the 9700 or 9900k drop a good 60 to 100 pounds I would go with that

The problem is Intel are just about holding up in one aspect, in everything else they are a long way behind. A very long way... it’s like amateur hour at Intel right now.
