Hi guys,

I bought a 9900k to replace a 8700k. I thought it would be a simple drop in replacement. However, I cannot get any display from the new cpu. Are there any settings i should change in the bios before putting the new cpu in?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you, I will check that in the morning, could swear I had the most up to date bios already installed though.

This evening I have tried a cmos clear, but still a blank screen. Tried the hdmi lead in both the graphics card and onboard hdmi. Also checked to make sure there were no error lights on boot, all clear. Very strange.

Most likely bios update needed but

Did you clear the CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard , taking out the bios battery and disconnect power cable to the psu.

Leave for 10 mins before trying.

Thanks Micky. I cleared cmos with just a screwdriver over two pins. Will try battery removal, then check bios etc.
