9970 to be twice as powerful as GTX 780/Titan ???

The rumor mill is reporting the next-gen AMD Radeon will be called the HD 9970 and built on an all-new 20nm process. If the specs are close it'll be around twice as fast as the GTX 780

How big should this grain of salt be ? If it's going to be twice as fast as the GTX 780 and faster than the titan then the price tag will be mahoosive, Thoughts ?
