A bad week

Started monday with loss of sound in any program other than wmp, followed up with a fresh install of vista that cured it. Updates kept failing though, so tried another fresh install and didn't load anything else, just tried doing updates alone, they kept failing still.

Tried another round of updates this morning, it went to restart and hasn't come back. Fans and drives spin up, there's no beeps, but there's also nothing coming up on the screen, not even the bios.

So, mobo dead?

Sounds like it to me.

Do you have a sound card or is it on board audio?

audio was on-board, and worked perfectly after doing the first re-install.

Been out and got a P5QL/EPU, no-one local had 7 premium in 64bit retail or oem, so have done another fresh install of vista. Just waiting to see if it'll install updates now...
