Quick question, have been thinking of getting this a change to playing cod. But was wondering if it would play okay on my system:
xp2500-m @ 2.2, 1gb pc2700, 9800 pro (not clocked)
Obviously it's not the greatest system but I know it isn't the worst.

Been playing special forces for a few days now and I'm not really impressed by it 
. Eight new factions yet only two get new weapons , everyone else gets pretty much the same load out as the standard MEC forces , just seems a bit lazy. Don't like the night maps and the others just seem to have something missing , dunno what it is but they're are just not drawing me in like most of the BF2 maps. I do like ghost town and war lord though. Then of course there is the performance , at least for me and looking around a few others it seems to run crap. BF2 runs fine or should I say did run fine untill the 1.12 patch , but this just seems to run real bad. Smaller maps , less detailed player models , yet worse then BF2 in terms of performance . Guess I was just expecting to much from Dice Canada.
Then we come on to the 1.12 patch thats was suppose to just ensure compatablity between SF and BF2 along with a few minor SF fixes. Well what can I say here except I hate it. I only have a modest system (3200+ , 1GB , 9800pro) , yet battlefield would play happily at 1024x768 medium ,shadows and other fancy ness off ,with a few minor caching issues at start of the round. 1.12 comes along , and what do we have? , quite a large framerate drop. Most noticeable in karkand and sharqi. Around the building site it now drops to 20-25fps when there is a fight , was fine before , but now un playable.

I'm done with BF2. The TK system is so badly implemented. You sneeze and you get a TK which Mr Moron insists on punishing you for.
Twice tonight I got banned from servers by auto kick/ ban for flying the choppers: Twice an enemy chopper flies into me with a full squad onboard and I get told I've TK'd 5 people each time. It's ******* ridiculous.
And every single person thinks this is adequate grounds to punish someone.

I was gutted last night - got a purple heart In my defence I was playing as a medic on Wake Island where we ended up getting pinned down in 1 base and was trying to keep everyone going. That was 1 medal I never wanted to "win"
