A bazillion COD2 errors since getting a 3800+ X2

Right i've had a lot of problems when going to a x2, most have now been solved by installing all the patches but cod2 runs like me on the toilet the morning after a chilli chicken pizza with jalapenos.

Problems are:

1, When people speak, sometimes no sounds come out just see their mouths move

2, Some of the graphics seem to be missing, for example on the first level when the guy tells you to shoot the hats and gives you a timer, all i see it a black box in the corner.

3, The game will randomly go back to the main menu with this error "SaveDevice_PC - Tempsavegame: Cannot open file for saving"

This game worked perfectly on one core (not as quick mind, seems dual core is fast on this game), reinstalled the game loads to try and get it to work.

Help?!?!

Tried alt+tabbing, loading up task manager and setting the affinity to one core for cod2?

I had a few problems with mine, nothing like you describe... just ended up with a bunch of AI scarecrows. =/

Like said above, while in game alt tab - using task manager set Cod2.exe affinity to one core, untick "1"

I have to do this in games like BF2 or i'll just get constant server DC's, seriously annoying.

I guess none of you read the last line saying he has had it working fine on single core?

Not sure what to suggest other than scouring the internet for people with dual core COD2 problems.

COD2 is dual core optamized. It runs better on 2.
I've had no probs so i'm not sure what it could be.
Is it set to surround sound & you only using 2 speakers?

Re-install it, if that fails reinstall windows?

Hi thanks for the replies lads, yeah the game runs soo much faster with 2 cores, I want to play with both ideally as it was unplayable with one core, thats why I came back to it with my dual core.

I've got the sound set to two speakers, I use a 2.1 system.

No problems here with COD2 1.3 . Perhaps reset game settings, reinstall the game, reinstall graphic/sound drivers?

What dual core drivers do you have installed?

IIRC check in the options, there should be a "optimize for dual core" option. Try that.

I just reinstalled windows now and re-installed the game, it's fixed a few of the errors but I still have a couple.

The captains voice is missing at the start a lot, then it crashes back to menu saying I dont have enough disk space more than 5mb is required - this is on a newly installed 250gig drive.

cod2 fixed lads, had to reinstall windows then amd optimzer, didnt work, then i installed the hotfix, works now thanks.
