Are those prices from another site?
As for the dvd i would pay a few quid more and get a re writer i think the one you have chosen is just a dvd rom .

Yes, some of those prices are from other places, some are from here. Unfortunatley, i could get some of the componants cheaper elsewhere.

As for the DVD ROM drive, i do not need a re writer. This PC will be used only for gaming and nothing more. Everything else i can do better on my mac.

Please, save yourself before it's too late. I know it's all down to personal taste and all but the X-Blade Silver ATX Gamers Case looks simply shocking. Skip the fancy/tacky chrome plastic and blue LED stage, it's not worth it :D

Try to get something plain but smart like an Antec 300, and a decent PSU. Ones included with cases are usually shocking, and for that price will be.

How about this for a PSU then?

And for a case

NZXT M59, Black, Gaming Style Mid Tower Case?

The PSU is fine, I don't have experience of the OcUK PSUs but they won't sell rubbish.

Oh, and the case, don't make me cry :D

I'm glad that PSU is OK. As for the case, i guess everyones tastes are different. ;)

So, as i previously asked, will these componants all work together:confused:

they either have,

better construction, better airflow, quieter, more features such as cable management holes, holes in the motherboard tray for heatsink retension bracket removal, less ugly.

You may be right, but every review I have read for this case says it's well made, cool and has good cable management. I also quite like the look of it:D

ALMOST :) I don't think i would ever have a windowed case.

It's as close to normal as it's going to get;)

It is my first build and I want to be able to see my handiwork without removing the side panel every time.

In the end, I think I will be very proud of myself and this computer when I have finished as I have never done anything like this in the past!

A Quick Update

I am considering changing the motherboard to a an Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 as this motherboard has the USB 3.0 ports that will be useful in the future as more hardware will support USB 3.0.

What do you think, will this be a worthwhile upgrade for the extra £15?

why limit your expansion slots by getting a M-ATX board?

how about this one- http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-410-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1782 or http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-283-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1782

I wouldn't worry about USB3 at the moment... AFAIK, there are currently no devices that use it, and a card is approx £15 anyway. esata is still better for hard drives.
