A Big PROBLEM!!!

well i cant connect to the internet...everytime i try use firefox or wlm it crashes..only browser i can use is internet explorer 64bit which is strange..i can still check for windows updates and i get rss feeds which means im a gettin a connection to the internet but for some reason i cant use certain apps..i had this problem about 2 weeks ago and my only solution was to format which i dont want do again!!..using vista ultimate 64 bit..help appreciated..thanks

Have you performed a virus scan? You could always use an online scanner, like HouseCall. The 64-bit version of Internet Explorer has different instructions, and is therefore less likely to get infected...

ive done a virus scan with nod32 and it found nothing..ive tried to use that housecall just now cant seem to install it...cant install the java thats needed

turns out it was my anti virus!!..uninstall fixed the problem
