A Bike Carrier for a 05 Civic

The problem here is the boot attached ones hook to the spoiler and the spoiler isn't of the strongest construction so not best advised.

I think Honda make some roof bars and then you can get a 3rd party cycle carrier to attach to those. I think that is the safest way as 3rd party doof bars can rub the paint on the roof.

There was a lot of discussion on the Type-R forums but I think they concluded the the roof was the best way, but also the most expensive and the reason I never bothered in the end.
 
Ive got some Thule bars to go on my 04 civic. Uses same foot as our old Piccaso, just need the foot adapters now to fit em to the civic.
Never right keen on rear carriers.
Last months Cycling Plus mag did a review of carriers, roof, rear and towbar fitment even measured how much mpg they cost you in drag.
Worst were the rear ones that sit the bike high to clear plate and lights. They knocked nigh on 8mpg off fuel consumption. Roof and towbar ones seem the best, averaging 3-4mpg off.
