A bit behind the times...... loving Far Cry !!!

I had another thread when I couldn't get the Far Cry cheats to work :

Glad I didn't get them to work !

I'm not a big gamer at all as I don't have the time, which is a shame as I have a rig that's well suited to it (hope that didn't sound ***** ??). I've really gotten into it and, as I said, am really glad I didn't cheat.

Now I see why the nay-sayers were telling me it was the wrong thing to do !!

All I can say is : Bring on Crysis (and a DX10 graphics card !!) !!

Yep its a good game alright, however its a bit annoying when the mutant monkeys and such come out.

Its been a while since playing Farcry but I do remember loving it at the time, was a breath of Fresh Air, shame the multiplayer was crap.

The graphics are still good compared to some of todays games (especially with the amount of grass and stuff like that). I never played the game all the way through, but love the pwning graphics.

Far Cry is still a top game & with people making some mods it will be in my top 5 for every me thinks ;-)

I liked the mutant monekys, they were fun to fight and gave me the creeps. It's the Doom rejects with rocket launchers for arms and other sillyness that spoils things. At it's best Far Cry is up there with the best fps imo, at it's worst it sinks pretty low into generic tripe territory.

It was great till the monsters then it was OK. My mate got as far as the waterfall near the end and the game wouldn't let him reload his saved game after it so he never could finish it.

lol far cry when ever i play that i play it up untill the bit where the first monkey thing attacks you on the game.. i get scared easy

iv masted the jungle bit up untill the freaky bits, on the hardest hardness setting

not played it in a while tho

Even once the Trigen appear in the game, they're not in every level. Far from it. At most they appear in about half the levels after their initial appearance in the game. Though i'll admit they can be a nightmare on any level that forces you to fight them in close confines. Shotgun is your friend.

I still reckon this is probably the best fps i've ever played. HL2 was awesome and i love the Call of Duty series, but i reckon FarCry shades it. It's so much fun, even when playing through it for the 5th time it still has a freshness about it imo. :cool:

Struck me as a pretty poor game other than the GFX to be honest. Very simplistic with rubbish AI and nothing at all innovative about it. I haven't played that far into it but that's for the reasons above. Going to try and give it a bit longer as everybody is saying how great it is but it's not appealing enough to drag me away from other things at the moment.

I got this game at launch and loved it, the graphics are still impressive to this day.

hmm, i thought it had some amazing visuals, but once you started fighting the monsters the gameplay was poor, to me they went for gfx over content

5-6/10 is all i could give it, deus ex and half life still blow it away
