Tried to OC MY I5 3570k/Ga Z77xD3h last night. Changed multiplier straight to 40, played BF1 for a while and PC was on for hours before turned off. Temps were cool and no problems

This afternoon it wouldn't boot it just stopped at the BIOS splash, after messing about for a good 30 minutes it said the bios was corrupted and switched to the backup bios.

So I flashed a new stable bios, have downloaded intel extreme tuning utility and i am trying to OC in windows.

Is it safe to OC in windows, I always thought it's better in BIOS, but I dont want that hassle again.

Recommendations?

Overclock in bios :)

I have a 3570k too running at 4.3GHz.

I just changed the multy to 43 and upped the vcore to 1.25v (i think...might be 1.28v now)...runs 24/7 cpu mining and running 2 vegas :)
